Crimean land for many centuries was the center of the tumultuous historic events that have left her in the folklore traces. Beautiful nature of the Peninsula - the Black sea, the jagged outlines of the rocks, covered with forest, deep gorges, mysterious caves - all of this conjures up fantastic images and stories, easily which formed the basis of ancient legends and tales.
In legends of Ancient Tauris meet characters from the medieval Christian population of the Crimea and the Turkic epic. They get along well and heroes of Greek mythology - Heracles, Artemis, Iphigenia; and real historical figures - for example, the Turkish Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and the Crimean khans of the Giray of Crimea and Arslan Giray; and fabulous creatures - birds-Amazons, wily Jinn and the evil devils. They also featured many of the geographical realities of the mountain Ayu-Dag (Bear mountain), the fountain of Bakhchisarai, the robber's cave, the ruins of the fortress on the Cross mountain, etc.
In Crimean legends, as expected, praises the courage and fearlessness of the people, they inspire faith in the inevitable triumph of good over evil, justice and the victory of high principles of humanity.
