Николай Павлович Задорнов (1909—1992) — известный русский писатель, заслуженный деятель культуры Латвийской ССР (1969). Его перу принадлежат два больших цикла произведений об освоении Сибири и Дальнего Востока русскими первопроходцами в XIX веке. Роман «Амур-батюшка» рассказывает о прошлом Приамурья, о тяжелых условиях жизни крестьян-переселенцев в 60—70-е годы XIX века, об освоении ими дикой природы края и, конечно, о дружбе с местными народами, без которой невозможно было бы выжить на новом месте. В 1952 году роман был отмечен Государственной премией СССР.

V 1952 godu roman byl otmechen Gosudarstvennoy premiey SSSR.
Nikolay Pavlovich Zadornov (1909-1992) — a famous Russian writer, honored culture worker of the Latvian SSR (1969). He is the author of two large series of works about the development of Siberia and the Far East by Russian explorers in the nineteenth century. The novel "the Amur-father" tells about the past of the Amur region, the harsh living conditions of peasants immigrants in the 60-70-ies of the XIX century, about the development of a wild nature of the region and, of course, friendship with the local people, without which it would be impossible to survive in a new place. In 1952, the novel was awarded the State prize of the USSR.
