My father was diagnosed with cancer. The threat of war dark shadow hung over their house, pervaded the routine. Trying to escape from the grim reality, Keret wrote down their reflections, and not very deep, sad and funny, absurdist and realistic - about what was going on. The result is a story about fragility, strange, impossible life, about love, about family, about the world. Etgar Keret is arguably the best of modern storytellers in the literature.
As far as I remember, all stories were divided for me into two types: one I like to tell close friends or neighbors, and others I preferred to share with random fellow passengers in trains or planes.
