"Золотая лихорадка" - продолжение известного романа Н.П. Задорнова "Амур-батюшка". В последние десятилетия XIX века на многочисленных притоках Амура были открыты золотые россыпи. То там, то тут в глубине приамурских лесов возникали "братские республики" старателей со своими законами и правителями. О жизни одной из таких "республик" и рассказывается в романе. Николай Павлович Задорнов (1909-1992) - известный русский писатель, заслуженный деятель культуры Латвийской ССР (1969). Ему принадлежат два цикла исторических романов об освоении в XIX веке русским народом Дальнего Востока, о подвигах землепроходцев. Первый цикл - из 4 романов: "Далёкий край" (1946-1949), "Первое открытие" (1969), "Капитан Невельской" (1956-58) и "Война за океан" (1960-62). Второй цикл об освоении Дальнего Востока крестьянами-переселенцами - из двух романов: "Амур-батюшка" (1941-46) и "Золотая лихорадка" (1969). В 1971 опубликовал роман "Цунами" - об экспедиции адмирала Е.В. Путятина в Японию в 1854-1855 г. Написал также роман о современности "Жёлтое, зелёное, голубое..." (1967), книгу путевых очерков "Голубой час" (1968) и другие. Его произведения переведены на многие языки мира, в том числе французский, японский, чешский, румынский, болгарский.

(1967), knigu putevykh ocherkov "Goluboy chas" (1968) i drugie. Ego proizvedeniya perevedeny na mnogie yazyki mira, v tom chisle frantsuzskiy, yaponskiy, cheshskiy, rumynskiy, bolgarskiy.
