Education and other social systems are characterized by the fact that most of the studied variables are latent, i.e. directly measurable (knowledge of the learners, creativity, quality of education, etc.).
The monograph is devoted to the theory of measurement of latent variables, which eliminates the main drawback of classical test theory — dependence of the resulting estimates from the "difficulty" of the test and / or questionnaire. The paper discusses the logical framework of this theory, described developed under the guidance of the author algorithmic software for the measurement of latent variables and provides numerous examples of the application of the theory.
The publication is of interest to researchers, specialists in education, teachers, postgraduates and students of senior courses of universities.
