В центре предлагаемого вниманию читателей исследования находится творческое наследие видного представителя христианской гуманистической мысли эпохи Возрождения Джона Колета (1467-1519). Ряд существующих в историографии образов, по мнению автора, искажают интеллектуальный и духовный облик Колета. Попытка очистить его от "наслоений" различных интерпретаций составляет стержень настоящей книги. In the centre of the present research is the creative heritage of an outstanding representative of the Christian humanist thought of the Renaissance John the Tunic. A number of existing in the historiography of images, in the author's opinion, distort the intellectual and spiritual appearance of the Tunic. Trying to clean it from the "layers" of different interpretations is at the core of this book. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the relationship of the intellectual to the culture of the classical Christian texts, the historical and philosophical thought of the Renaissance, the adjusted representation about the relationship between a Tunic with Marsilio Ficino and Erasmus of Rotterdam.
