Стихи для этой книги написал выдающийся поэт, переводчик и эссеист Алексей Петрович Цветков — лауреат премии Андрея Белого (2007) и «Русской премии» (2011), автор ряда поэтических сборников, постоянный сотрудник ведущих литературных и общественных изданий.
«Бестиарий» — первая детская книжка Цветкова: смешная, яркая, наследующая лучшим образцам детской «абсурдной» поэзии. А писатели Линор Горалик и Лея Любомирская добавили к этим стихам маленькие рассказы о том, какой была судьба каждого зверя в Библии (да, и дракона, и ондатры тоже!) — и какой жизнью этот зверь живет в сегодняшнем Израиле. И ещё «Бестиарий» — книжка, которая «растёт» вместе с ребёнком: сперва родители могут читать ему стихи и истории, потом постепенно чтение стихов он станет осваивать сам, а там и до самостоятельного чтения историй доберётся.
