Учебное пособие написано в соответствии с программой дисциплины "Общая физика" для высшего технического учебного заведения. В него включены все темы раздела "Физические основы механики".
Цель пособия --- дать возможность студенту научиться решать задачи под руководством преподавателя. Для этого используется метод диалога между преподавателем и студентом.
Каждая тема начинается с рассмотрения теории в форме вопросов преподавателя и ответов студента на эти вопросы и заканчивается разбором типовых задач, производимым в той же форме. При разборе задач показывается, как создается метод решения поставленной задачи путем анализа ее физического содержания.
В темах приведены портреты и краткие биографические сведения о великих ученых --- создателях классической механики Г.Галилее и И.Ньютоне и создателе релятивистской механики А.Эйнштейне, перечень их основных трудов и открытий.
Данное пособие состоит из трех частей. Настоящая книга --- "Механика" --- является первой частью (вторая часть --- "Электричество и магнетизм", третья часть --- "Волновая и квантовая оптика").
Пособие предназначено для студентов высших технических учебных заведений. Оно поможет им успешно преодолеть трудности, возникающие при самостоятельном решении задач.

The manual is written in accordance with the program of discipline of "General physics" for the higher technical educational institutions. It includes all topics of the section "Physical basis of mechanics".
