В настоящей книге известного английского математика Э.Ч.Титчмарша (1899--1963) систематически излагаются основные свойства дзета-функции, играющей исключительно большую роль в теории чисел. Ряд проблем о распределении простых чисел, остающихся десятилетиями и даже веками неразрешенными, целиком сводятся к проблемам о свойствах дзета-функции, в частности к вопросу о распределении ее нулей. Настоящая работа относится лишь собственно к теории дзета-функции, не рассматривая приложений последней к теории простых чисел. Предполагается, что читатель уже имеет некоторые сведения о дзета-функции и ее роли в аналитической теории чисел.

In this book, a famous English mathematician E. H Titchmarsh (1899--1963) systematically sets out the basic properties of the Zeta function, which plays an extremely important role in the theory of numbers. A number of issues about the distribution of Prime numbers that remain for decades and even centuries of unresolved entirely reduced to problems about the properties of the Zeta function, in particular to the question of the distribution of its zeros. The present work applies itself to the theory of Zeta-functions, without considering applications to the theory of Prime numbers. It is assumed that the reader already has some information about the Zeta function and its role in the analytic theory of numbers.
The book is recommended to graduate students and senior students of mathematical faculties specializing in number theory.
