Второй - разного рода лавки или рынки (так они назывались во фламандской традиции; в испанской утвердилось название "бодегон" от слова "харчевня, трактир"). Третий - натюрморты с дичью, охотничьи, очень близкие к мясным лавкам. Четвертый - так называемые "завтраки" (они были распространены в Голландии). Пятый - музыкальные инструменты. Этот тип во многом схож с шестым, получившим название "vanitas" (от слов Екклесиаста: "Vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas", или "Суета сует и все - суета"). Это композиции, посвященные теме бренности человеческого существования и тщеты земных амбиций. К "vanitas" примыкает также так называемый "ученый натюрморт" (композиции с изображением черепа в Голландии назывались "doodshoofd"), а к нему, в свою очередь, пронк-натюрморт (от голландского pronken - "показывать", "выставлять", "проявлять"). Пронк-натюрморты служили для того, чтобы показать обстановку жизни коллекционера, ученого, художника. Девятый тип - обманки, или тромплеи (от французского trompe-l'oeil - "оптическая иллюзия), на которых предметы написаны так, что выглядят настоящими (в Голландии эта разновидность натюрморта носила название "bedriegerje").
